Frequently Asked Questions

While it is usually common to experience slight sensitivity after teeth whitening, our whitening gel results in  little to none!  We have seen sensitivity in less than 1% of our clients!

This varies from individual to individual and depends on a multitude of factors, such as age, types of staining, and the severity of the staining. After one treatment, teeth may brighten up to 8-12 shades. It is important to set expectations when whitening, as everyone's teeth respond differently towards the gel.

You can whiten as often as needed until you achieve your desired shade! Our gel is a plant and mineral based product, so there are no harsh chemicals that will affect the enamel, dentin, or gums. We recommend treatments a week or less apart for best results.

Whitening is not permanent. Usually, the results last from six months to a year, but effects will diminish over time. You can make them last longer by avoiding the foods and habits that cause staining.  Ask us about maintenance plans!

Veneers, crowns, and false teeth will stain over the years. The teeth whitening gel will remove any staining, bringing them back to their original color.

Our teeth whitening treatments take 30-45 minutes. You will be in our office for roughly an hour.

For the first 24 hours, avoid foods and drinks that may stain your teeth — think anything that would stain a white t-shirt (coffee, tea, red wine, dark soda, red sauces, chocolate, etc.). If you do have something that may stain, rinse with water or brush soon after. Avoid smoking for 24 hours. A  full set of aftercare instructions will be given during your appointment.

Sensitivity is uncommon but can happen within the first 24 hours and is usually mild and temporary. Avoid very hot or cold foods and drinks during this time. Using a sensitivity toothpaste like Sensodyne may help. If needed, an anti-inflammatory such as ibuprofen can help manage discomfort. If sensitivity lasts longer than 48 hours, please contact us.
